Random thoughts

From here on i will quote my random thoughts in this post and will keep adding as it comes:-

* After a year of working in various organisations in different development fields, I practically learnt lot of things apart from development.
       i) Practically to survive in a tough development field where your every work is not often appreciated. the mantra to survive and succeed is simply staying calm and leave it to fate. The solution to a complex problem is sometimes takes days together or sometimes its solved in a giffy, Even though you are unaware of how you did it. Though your managers levitate insane dead lines just do your thing. calm eases mind and does things.  am sticking on to it.   

Life has a programmer (journal entries)

After my Engg in Computer science from RIT, things changed and begin to scramble, life for the first time became topic of interest. The coolness and carefree life in the college all of a sudden became serious and distracting.

          The only thing which was popping in my head was what next? (this is common syndrome in most of the students in final year). I too was suffering the same.

     Well am fortunate that few things are already planned(though most of the part is screwed) so finally I got into a company were I  am fortunate enough to learn. With no work. With salary quite more then my pocket money I used to get while in college. :-) :-) 

      During initial days I thought myself php fairly by my colleague who is expert in php but I stopped after I found that it's not that powerful and it's vast. But before leaving I made my self confident that I can manage any projects on php. 

   Well while in college java was every ones favorite programming language and mine too I dreamt of learning and mastering it. But as said time is wat decides were and what one becomes.  I unfortunately end up in learning c# r say visual c#. 

     I don't know much r say not even pebble of it.  But while in office I found out that It's a powerful language and what best is with a tool like visual studio we can build any thing by using inbuilt  framework.  Few saw that library is so wast that almost any code is available for any project you plan or might plan and no need to develop from scratch that's really augumistic and me being a noob thought might I have a future in that.  More over I found out that there's lot of hiring going on in c#.  Me being desperate of job may find a place to work.

Well I thought I had a trainer in this but one colleague of mine though he is expert he is not a good trainer.  So I thought to train my self from scratch instead of rushing like most of things in my life.  I will start this from basic.  In order to keep track of mine experience or say to know where am heading to I will post day to day as a programmer r say learner.  Let's see where this goes... 

      This week I started. 

Day 1: it was all about analyzing the depth and far reach i am going to approach. I tried asking my colleague what should i do, teach me something. in summary whole day just messing up in knowing what i am planning and what i need to achieve.

Day 2: whole day was spent on knowing what  is the difference between visual basic and visual c#. I thought all was same and later found out that they r both different programming languages. basic is older one while c# is updated one. though both r powerful and does the same c# is quite preferable cause the syntax is simple and straight forward. so i will move on with c#.

Day 3: in order to learn myself i have to study myself and in order to do so i thought of downloading a eBook. that teaches from basic and get started in no time. so i started searching with crazy search strings for ex "beginners c#" "c# for dummies" "learn c# in 30 days" quite for every search i came up with lot of unheard eBooks. i got confused. so i gave up search and started consulting few friends who are already in it. all suggested few books. still confused i started searching forums where the legend programmers responds i posted few questions and i found few on simple search. i started noting the book names, out of which i found a book which was suggested by most of them it was from wrox publications with title "professional_asp.net_4.5_in_c#_and_vb".  I downloaded pdf and even i converted to kindle format for my note. i made sure that i will start over from tomorrow.

Day 4:  whole day i read from introduction part. Now i can realise how efficient visual c# is, how powerful is the tool and what all the possibilities lies ahead and the scope of it. well i guess now i understand what am i dealing with. A quote is reclaiming in my head when writing this "Never underestimate your enemy unless you know them". its cent percent true. well i am not underestimating my enemy(c#) and with hope i can say i will tame it one day for sure.

Day 5: Guess what?? its 22nd august and its my birthday. well whole day just was indulged with friend phone calls FB  whatsapp wechat gtalk mail. No mood only, just ruined time and just enjoyed whole day. after all whats birthday is for, cos its my day and i am making  all out of it. lets say C# ke liye ek din ka chutti.

day6: After a exiting weekend back to office. today i am working with CSS and  few basics on how to work in visual studio. such as how to create tables, set style of a sheet etc.,

day7: today i felt that am bit lacking in concept of c# and thought focusing on it. instead of reading Ebook which is very boring and my eyes were burning yesterday, so thought of downloading some video tutorials which gives the basic idea. i knew lynda tutorial is best when it comes to video tutorial, so i found a video tutorial named  "c# Essential Training with JOE MARINI" has lynda is not a open source need to subscribe for the course, i googled for other sources and found a site sharing it for free [link]. Guess its a worth video tutorial and has helped in understanding basics.

me & myself

Its quite astonishing to see quite traffic flow in my blog. I wonder how people land on my page when i haven posted link on outside world expect my facebook profile page or in turn asked any one to see my blog, but any ways i write for my self.
          One of my friend is quite a geek, human behaviour and relation expert, he once gave me a good advice, A way to keep occupied when things are not running fine. Instead of getting wasted boozing, locking up and living alone with loud music, gaming all time, load of movies etc etc out of many advice's one effective suggestion was to "write things what ever you feel about you on what ever with pen on dairy, scribble pad or laptop. Dont worry if some one reads and laugh, let them go to hell, all it makes is to realise you, your present sense and it helps in evaluating yourself. i bet you".  Damn he was right that makes real sense, a person can see himself 360 deg and he can understand his present state. well then i feel i am in a need of doing some writing which is in sense keeping up this blog, has i have all the above symptoms of getting wasted.
            Well this year 2012 was quite fine, happened to be best year. there was lots of odds then downs thats quite sweet, I learnt lot of valuable things which i had to learnt way before. but i am keeping my spirit saying better late then never.

Sher-lock

I usually name my post at end after writing, same goes now too. I spent most of time watching Sherlock a TV series which is being aired on BBC one. I am great fan of Sherlock Holmes and its creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,  i grown watching or reading in either ways. but this was quite interesting because this Sherlock is a updated one 21st century consultant detective (in his words "only one in this world invented by me") he uses modern technology to solve the crime. I became a great fan of  Benedict Cumberbatch who stars as Sherlock  he is awesome. In this version Sherlock owns a website the science of deduction and his friend "Dr. john Watson" personal blog can check those all in real.

                          Am really excited to see the one in real. well this sort of things really make me happy. The things which keep me interested is fiction, technology, deception, futuristic, brilliance etc. If Sherlock  existed in real then his IQ would be unmatched. 

                    The way Education system in India implemented creates a bunch of hypes. there can never be a word of innovation, entrepreneurship. One has to go rouge daring everything to achieve different.

The other day, i was messing around with my lappy formatting and arranging things.
          Few 5 years back the lane when the computers costed high, @ that time having 320 gigs of hard disk was the real luxury any one can afford. I remember my friend used to say "my friend have got a high end computer with pentinum 4 processor 21 inch CRT monitor 320 gigs of hard disk space, that guy keeps stuffs ranging from different kinds of movies, songs, games etc. its a huge collection cant find any thing missing".  Back now a days a 320 gigs means nothing, according to me its nothing but a tiny sack.
        Now a days, day by day files are getting bigger, HD,blue ray sizes are huge. but ironically pic images are also getting heavier. My sony cybershot every images weighs 5-10mb, Every time i take it out for capturing for function or event then there will be at least 60 -70 images and the whole takes gbs of memory.
       while arranging i faced the same annoying thing where i couldn't afford space to transfer pics from my camera to the hard disk, as its over loaded though i have kept a dedicated drive especially for images of 25gb its been loaded by images (holy crap images filling the entire partition).
       Now i am out of option and cant afford to loose the files or no room on hdd partition, so now decided to burn it on blank dvd's, because as of now i cant afford external hdd. so searched for few good deals of blank dvd pack on ebay and ordered it, waiting for its shipment.
         Mean while i came up with the idea of picking few best images of all those folders and collaging it. Its really fun as it gives the highlight of whats there (editors point of view). But for me it highlights the best moments of my life. Its really fun to collage, here what i got collaging.

Ever since childhood i was very much interested in photography, according to me photography mean "capturing real time instances for life time ever". It all started when my aunt gifted me a Kodak film roll camera. Ever since i have handled devices with cutting edge technology, thus pulling deep making my most favorite Hobbie.

                                     
                 
                    Recently in my CS branch we hosted a farewell party. I planned myself to capture this event in a bit professional way ( sorta experiment). I geared up with the resources i can afford at that time. Practically resources was too limited and for sure i can no way cope with the oncoming requirements. instead it was just make over. Any ways we managed to come up with two cameras (thanks for ujwal 2nd year for Panasonic hd camera). I knew this couldn't work out well as these two cameras are far apart in terms of specification and resolution. Sony seems to capture home video type low resolution amateur video while Panasonic had a way beyond resolution with clear picture with which you can watch HD videos on your home HD TV.
      So in order to use resources well i planned up to use both of these in some what better way. I placed Panasonic HD camera to shoot main event on stage while to use sony handy-cam to capture behind the scene events, audian's etc, well now settled with those cameras. Now needed a tripod ie, a stand that is used to place cameras and shoot continuous shot. This tripod is not an ordinary one it ways back costing more then a digital camera it costs around 8 to 10k. Thanks to rashmi, She arranged bringing one on rent.
        With 30k panasonic camera, 18k  sony handycam, 8k sony cybershot, 8k tripod,  thats make total of  64k equipments, with which i needed to accomplish the planned task.
             Professionals use audio equipments such as wire less MIC or wired MIC sometimes which will be placed in various places to capture speaker as well as audian's voices over time which will be clubbed to get the finished form. But i wasn't able to afford one. So i did shooting without the aid of one. prepared to obtain video with much distortion and noice.
       
On Farewell Day:-

                                     
As planned before i was able to shoot event using those equipment and everything went right. Sony handy cam was given to one of the junior to shoot. He did decent side capturing, while panasonic HD camera was handled by me and i shot from beginning to end, though i found bit confused to handle at first, i managed to make over and cope with the equipment and did a finest shoot. At first we found an issue where we found difficulty in unfolding tripod, later some how unfolded after trial and errors. and when program started we found that the camera was crippling and was not tightly adjusted to tripod, This was bit challenging because we had to fix the problem while camera was rolling, this was bit tricky because camera used to shake and rotate while tighting the nut, this may lead to loosing the event and it will be a blow as there is no retake and i was in no way prepared to loose any of the event, by the expertise of ujwal this problem was fixed with minor distortion which was later negotiated in post ediiting. I also found difficulty in placing camera in front of stage, has i had no clear idea in what distance it needed to be placed, the problem was not with zoom has the camera was equipped with 26x zoom with which i can even shoot dust on a screen but the problem was with zoom out or a wide angle of the stage. If i place in front of the i couldn't cover wide angle shot, but has i dint had audio equipments i could capture voice of the speaker on stage with less noise from crowd has it is bit far from crowd but nearest to the speaker.but if i had went back there i could cover whole stage in wide angle shot but has it was in between crowds there was more possibility of voice recording would be lower of the speaker and filled with crowd noise (later in post editing i found out that crowd voice was too high and it was crossing the minimum threshold level which used to make buzz noise when play backed) there was also possibility of my voice being recorded (it happened many times) has i was behind the camera and much louder has i stand behind the camera very closer nearer to inbuilt mic system. All these factor would ruin the video and it may seems random shot, just an amateur video. editing would take lot of work to rectify these ( I will write about my efforts to rectify sound distortion in later pages) .
              Camera placement became a headache as i needed  to shift depending on scenes, some used to stand in very front while some at back, some times placement was based on the audians view, as i was blocking there view standing at center. few times i moved tripod to cope but wasn't rectified and i ignored there pleas.
              Rest apart was a piece of cake but physically challenging has i had to stand whole day from morning to evening. My legs where really falling. I was literally tired when i went back home. In certain events like "minute to win it" i kept camera in a wide angle covering whole table and kept it to roll and went back and sat behind but this didn't paved much.

I am something, but at the same time am nothing.. Its been a while i wrote last blog post. seriously i sat so many times to write something but at end i scrambled it. yes this is what i am, this year just in 2 months i gone through out lot of odds and cons a total slug.
              I have some plans and bledy fate has some plans. I am damn confused about whatsoever and i will not give a shit!
              well coming back! it wasnt a month planned of, at the same time it was not so bad. blog is public and i cant pen whatever to core, so need to cut where ever off limits. but its quite interesting place to share pics, events as such thats quite interesting. well there was, but i felt at end its not kinda writable.

Thinks happens in swift and when you are very happy of it, changes its persistence to sad very quickly thats what life is about. I am not cool and i dont pretend to be but i try to be.
                       Time is the kingpin, its the one that can make a person whatsoever he can be acceptable and with fate unacceptable too. and in the mean time the real sense of people, that mean the real faces of people gets published. In recent times i have a worst possible experience of it, I have seen that. People with fake faces doesnt lost longs time is the one that unfolds their mask. it doesnt bother you when not so imp person falls in that list. but when your close friend and one you love falls in that list it tampers your mind for sure. fortunately i had to face in both those criteria's (i will not talk much on it) bledy  morons :-) rot in hell!!
          I found one funny thing for sure when you are intoxicated it  feels effortless to write something(no creative problems) flows as a water. but when you are as usual i cant write a line. so many times i have slept thinking what the hell to write.
          Before ending this sense less whatsoever talk, i like to tell one thing  " Listen I am Akash, I love what i am, No one can be me or No one can replace me, I don't give shit for what ever people talk of me, I value the one who r with me and at the same time i don't want to see those faces one who back stabs me, finally i don't care for no one. This is me and what i am and i will be....".
                         

First Experience in "namma metro"

Continuation from previous post

At almost 7.45AM we reached metro station in MG road. opposite to our expectations whole station was empty with few passangers countable.
     Well quite there was a security check at MG road station, the security personal checked with metal detector and he even asked me to empty my pockets to show him my 2 cell phones and 2 cameras. I felt little awkward because if this guy checks in detail similar to airport authorities, if  there is a huge rush how they can possibly handle. but my expectations came false when returning from   Baiyyappanahalli (end destination) there was no security check at all. but i dont know why they have increased the security check in MG road, because there was a x ray luggage scanner similar to one we find in airport. Though the station is big and has got whole area monitored inch to inch by cctv's, escalators, lift, fine finished flooring, i found out that it misses the common ammunities such as a 'wash room'. 'photography' is prohibited but i defyd the rule as am "indian" and i did my bit violating.

 The train as of now, travells from MG road to Byappahalli. it takes hardly 10 mins, same by bus it takes hrs together. The cost is 15rs/person. only one side ticket is available.
                  Ticket is a digital chip encoded black plastic token(coin).

Coin

While Entering we have to keep that coin on the space above access doors, once you keep it opens and you have to take coin with you untill ride ends at the end, during exits from the station you have to drop the coin like "hundi" in temple to get exit.my belief is if am travelling lesser distance coin should be dropped in that particular station it self, else it doesn't gives exit i guess.. what the fish. who knows what to do if i miss station and jumps on next.  coin on purchase need to be accessed within 20mins of your purchase.

                 Coming to train, there's trains running every 10 mins so no need to wait longer, on time reach and no delays. Train doors open and close within approx 30 to 35 sec in between which commuters has to board or un-board the train. Train is a/c fitted and on board announcement system and display systems assisting about the stop station and instructions.

Train is fitted with state of the art technology with advanced security systems and communication system. each coach is fitted with cctv's. with one row of seat, it is especially made for standing commuters. due to interlocking of doors and a/c coach the coach will be less in noise. with large window panes it is best to have exterior view.

it was pleasant travel,.. i liked it, when i reached byapnahalli we went out to have the glimpse of undergoing projects of metro for extension of services.

As i said before there were no security check at byappanahalli, we took ticket and went back. I noticed that the fellow travellers where same as us, who just came to experience the ride..

           we waited for few mins and the train arrived as promised.

Post 5- what a week it was!! lol

Well it was a week back that i wrote last post. I am always known for irregularity but few instances kept me out of blog:-
i) Full week i was busy writing Internals and there after Lab Internals.
ii) Disastrous trip to mysore
iii) intoxicated nights.
iv) tweaking with HTML and CSS to refurbish the look of the blog. (still half done)

   Any way it was a exiting week. fun filled experiences ever could i had imagined. in brief energetic fun hatred filled week.
                                         Disastrous birthday Party
     I Did my Internals well and it went really well, but the day after the success of internals thought of getting little intoxicated, moreover it was set for birthday party of one of my classmate. It was basically set to be organised in mysore but we were so ruined with these internals, so to relieve it was a perfect time. so, we pulled him and self invited ourselves and with a mindset of keeping it simple, as orginal plan was set for a grand party in mysore. but when we started at a dhaba it was correct, but as a couple of beer emptied,few of my friends started behaving insane (i will not mention any ones name here) breaking bottle, insulting people around them, started fighting with the another group who where juniors, which made them to leave the premises, whole resturant was ransacked. finally when every thing was done, bill was whopping 4000 bucks with my friend having just 1500 rs in his pocket. finally when everything was about to be set, 2 insane friends who were proclaiming themselves has best buddies started fighting for unknown reason(still i dont know and even they don't know ha ha!). restaurant management called for cops that is when i made a exit, so as to save myself to getting caught.(lot happened but i will stop here).

          my friends lap top got screwed needed to replace mother board and nearest lenovo outlet was in mysore . so with enthusiasm went catching a early morning train. that is when my bad time started, as soon as i boarded, took out my digital camera took a few snaps but to my hard luck the next flash stopped, it started capturing without flash. i was totally lost, checked all but still it dint rectified. later when we reached started a busy day roaming by the time all got over it was afternoon, i had lost all my stamina due to sunlight. moreover after lap top work went to chammundi hills by standing in a crowded local bus n at temple there was a long queue and took few hours there. later when we were back it was noon thats when we got the news that service guy needed 24 more hrs to zero in the accurate problem. one of my friend went back but all of them planned to stay there hoping to get boozed again that night. Later we went to KRS and when we reached it was 7 pm. i felt very bad about my camera when i saw people capturing photos. it was awesome scenery there, even i tried to take photos all was just like a flashing dot light. got back to friend room on the way in the bus thought of checking the photos in my pda has the camera's battery was too low switched it but while swapping back i may have forgotten to insert again "lost my memory card with all those pic taken that day" (i would have posted few if it was with me) what a disaster. night was OK not went has planned. Next day again ruined day happened 10am got up, visited service center, spent time in park, roamed all over. by the time i cached the train back @ 6PM, i was re leaved. reached home by 10 PM. Moral: never do any thing without plan, else it will be ruined.    

                                            Present Day
  After all those menace all this week and with a skipping time frame of lab exam on 24th i am out of schedule and before getting into the menace of preparation of exam  so we friends made a plan for little outing with a little money we had. this is one of a kind of new experience.
                     We 4friends started a group(unnamed) 3months back, according to which every month after all the menace of that month, we will accumulate few money and we will make party. our team consists of 3 amateur drinkers and 1 non drinker, but the fun is he will be the one who is investing more money then others.
             1st month with enough money we had a great party, next month was bit less but this was officially organised in a big hotel. 3rd month our team was all running short of money and in order to keep our trend we organised it today with bit experience from previous experiences. we where in a conclusion that getting "boozed" is the only propoganda either you do it any where. so finally the 3rd month we were on streets (ha ha!). so planned a location where we can organise and finally found stadium will be the best place in hassan to get boozed.
              Stadium is more often used by sports people and the usual old people to walk but we used it has a place to sit and booze, what a fun it was, literally enjoyed (oh! god what have i become). unfortunately a security personal saw us in the pitch black(may be he is a owl for sure) but as we where about to have a second thought, he warned us not to leave bottle in the premises and left.
                   
                   Back at home right now with little intoxication. switched my lap top to start working on programs but my ruthless mind scrupt me out for writing this post,with memories running in my mind. pairing it up with words and cutting short to make it simple, after all this is what this blog is meant for! jai ho!

Post 4-Quite Interesting Day

I have always keep belief in few facts like "Everything happens that's because of the reason" "life teaches us everyday" like wise there are lot of quotes and few i agree and few i have a disbelief in.
                Well today i realized this quotes matches with every instances that happened. Yesterday has i said at night 1 O clock i decided to write internals on 'operating system' i was in a thought that i am a pro and can just glance and i can face any internals or exams, due to my previous success, created such a confidence. as u may have heard that "confidence is better but over confidence is worse" same happened, it was purely a disaster. one of my friend who was sitting front of me tried his best to show but i was so dumb that at the very moment i understood 'even am not capable of copying'. so just wrote what ever i know, luckily i dint required this internals, so felt relaxed and just returned forgetting, to concentrate on "DBMS". well has they say "your work will always be paved", same happened?I wrote decently with a expectation of quite nice marks on board.
                          Finally 4 is out and two more to go, but tomorrow will be tough day because of  both effected subjects 'Computer networks' and 'finite automata formal language' which needs a quite high marks. which i doubt getting that. I have to study more so, which i doubt i can do that.

Post 3 - Confused by this Internals

                                               Early Morning

Today my day was not so pleasant because i started my day early around 6 AM . sound of alarm was like a huge horn blowing in my ears. i feel sometimes "how on earth people get so early" vice versa my family thinks about me "how on earth he can sleep so late when every one is getting up" ha ha.. it so habitual for me as i am defying the 'laws of nature'. i have became a nocturnal species and i don't mind awaken till morning. but to my fear this rules defies when there is a internal or exam next day, same thing happened yesterday, i felt asleep early and i tried my best but i was drowsing, finally packed my books and slept keeping alarm.
       @ 6 AM after several times of snoozing cursing education n education system got up, tried best to read as much with drowsing and in between dreaming as if i was studying. @ 9 AM wrapped up, finally ran to college in hurry.

To my surprise when i saw paper sub: Software Engineering  i knew all of the questions.


 Writing internals is an art followed mostly by boys: 
If we have not studied well we follow art #1- Fill as much as paper showing your art of creativity.
If we have studied in 50:50 ratio follow art#2- Fill paper combining what you have studied with creativity. 
If we have studied 100% then follow art#3 Fill all you have learnt with no gags (afraid its very coincidental n rare scenario)
        The conclusion of the above is just fill paper with what ever you know. 'because we pay for blue book right'. 'it improves your sentence forming ability'. etc etc


I followed art#2, I was so involved that, for my writing i would have got award for the literature, extending a paragraph sized answer to pages but to my 'hard luck' as i said in my previous posts time waits for no one exactly same happened, to my fear when i was still in 2nd part middle, Invigilator announced "5 more minutes". I was trembled then i cursed myself for the screwed creativity, wrote as much possible in short, until she snatched my paper.


                                              Back to Home


I had decided that i am not going to write 'System software' as i have enough marks in it. so skipped it and till from morning am locked up trying to study "Data Base Management System". oh! god my mind is running 100 ways,checking face book on hourly basis, skipped songs ranging from languages to pop and finally rock to metal. some how managed to finish part decently.
                   Am in bit confusion whether to write "operating system"(obviously not writing code ha ha)
so finally taught of giving a shot, now its 00.30 hrs and need to start now to write at 9.30AM.
                 Let see today special sleep syndrome affects or not. This 48 hrs will be sleepless, writing 3 effected subjects and 1 normal that counts 4..
             Let See how i  handle this........................

"Internals Messing Me"

Post 2- Busy Schedule

All these days i was busy working on my project. but one fine day i had a flash "oh! wait a minute you are out of schedule". yes exactly, I found that exams are nearing and am about to write 3rd internals with awesome average i have kept till now. oh,sorry i am writing tomorrow my 3rd internals. god knows what i scrub there.
                   I was busy learning 'perl' a programming language. adobe Photoshop for designing purposes. bit hours of surfing tons of data for my project. wep and wpa cracking and searching for wi5 adapter on ebay, gathering info on hosting servers,touch typing etc etc. i dint noticed time has it passed by.

     "Everyday i am facing Interruption to procure with my project and this instance adds to it"

                 well so i made a schedule and planned to call off my project until exams. now i am pushing my self off limits and needs to crucify to concentrate my whole on facing my exams. hope i do well and i will.

  I always had thoughts which where running through my mind,  few had much impact and remained in my mind, but few lost without attention and with time all faded to thin air, unable to recall. When i was young i used to notice people writing diaries, i didn't understood at that time, has time passed i gradually learnt that 'few things need to be saved'. 

          The major difference between humanoid robots and humans are that their memory can be saved in a digital format but human's can't. So we human document our thoughts by writing diaries.

          I din't felt comfortable holding pen, So i started typing,well! literaly i mean i kept a digitized diary on my laptop and made regular entries. but to my 'hard luck' with a disk crash i lost my data along with my diary, dint had a back up. 

          I then switched to online diary service but din't found comfortable. I meant for a platform where i could write, share, save. In mean time i found blogging is all about that and hence here i am with my blog.
         Here i am planning to Blog on personal life,social,technology,recent,past..... In short any thing.
